The Rolls-Royce Dawn is $999 a day or $599 for four hours, and it is the only convertible in our lineup with four real seats. That makes it the right car for a couple of couples to share a sunset drive.

The car

The Dawn has a V12 twin-turbo engine making 563 hp, a power soft top that is silent even at highway speed when raised, and the smoothest ride in the fleet. It is built for relaxed pace, not lap times.

A simple route

Start at St. Armands Circle for an early dinner, then take the Ringling Bridge toward Lido Key as the light drops. Park, walk the beach, and finish with the top down on the way back. The Dawn page lists St. Armands and Lido Key as its most common sunset drives.

Timing

A four-hour rental is enough for dinner and a short drive. If you also want a morning or an extra night, the full day at $999 is the better value, since the four-hour rate is $599.
