What to Wear and Pack for a Convertible Rental in Sarasota

Driving with the top down in Sarasota is a highlight, but sun and wind are real, and most convertibles have little luggage space. A short checklist helps.

Sun protection

Wear sunscreen, including on your shoulders and the tops of your ears, and polarized sunglasses. Reapply during a long drive.

Hair and hats

Wind will find loose hair and light hats. Tie hair back or bring a scarf, and choose a hat that can be secured. Bring a clip or a band.

Layers for the evening

Even on warm days, wind and the evening can feel cooler. A light layer for a sunset drive keeps you comfortable.

Footwear and clothing

Wear shoes you can drive in, not heavy boots or loose sandals. A long dress or a wide skirt is easier in a four-seat car such as the Rolls-Royce Dawn than in a low two-seater.
