First-Time Exotic Car Driver Tips for Sarasota
Driving an exotic car for the first time is mostly about adjusting to a car that is lower, wider and quicker than what you drive every day. These tips make the first hour easier.
Do the walkaround properly
At delivery you will go around the car and sign paperwork. Use that time to ask how the controls work, how to open the roof if there is one and where to find anything you are unsure about. Take your own photos too.
Spend a few minutes in a quiet place
Before you head onto a busy road, adjust the seat and mirrors and drive a short loop on a quiet street. Get a feel for the steering, the brakes and the throttle.
Respect the throttle
Power comes on quicker than in a normal car. Press the pedal gently until you know how the car responds, and stay within the speed limit.
Mind the height and width
These cars sit low and are wide. Take speed bumps and steep driveways slowly and diagonally, and give yourself more room in parking lots.
Choose a friendly first car
The Corvette C8 Convertible at $399 a day is our entry point and a common first exotic. The Nissan GT-R and Corvette Z06 are the step up if you want more power.
Ask us anything
If you are nervous, say so when you call. We would rather talk through it than have you feel unsure at the wheel.
